Welcome!!

TEACH (Training via elearning: An Alternative Certification Hybrid) offers an interdisciplinary curriculum with special emphases on the teacher of the culturally, linguistically and academically diverse child.  The program specifically meets the teaching and learning needs of the individual who wants to teach children with special language and linguistic issues. TEACH offers a teacher training program that specifically meets the needs of the  growing diverse student population in Texas classrooms. Nevertheless,  it is a very flexible program tailored to the teacher candidate's learning needs.

Removing the barriers to time, work, and geography, TEACH provides an individual alternatives to acquiring a teaching certificate in 44-weeks (includes 36-week paid internship).  Developed by a team of teachers and professors who bring over 300 years of teaching experience in Texas classrooms, the TEACH program produces a high-performing teacher.  More importantly, TEACH is framed to meet the challenges of the No Child Left Behind Act

Special Opportunity: While candidates will select a certificate area in which to concentrate, the curriculum’s interdisciplinary format prepares candidates with the pedagogical foundations for all certificate areas. Thus, candidates admitted into the program during 2005 may access, at no additional cost, the three additional courses to complete the second or third certificate areas.
